business mission statement

Week 9 : EDOC  The Adventure

I have always been the adventurous type and I just knew that I would have an exciting trip to Brazil. My friend Chris had invited me for a two week stay and we had planned to see carnival and to try as much culture we could possibly take in . We had our bags packed and had brought a tour book for Brazil so that we would be sure not to miss out on anything. The first thing Chris wanted to do was to hit up one of the local bars and just to relax before we started our adventure. The bar was a quaint place and the bartender was very nice he asked us where we were visiting from . I said that I lived in Vegas and Chris was from England. We decided to order some food to go with our drinks and we were both taken away when we tried the crisp cheesy bread . I told Chris this would be perfect little snack that every bar should have. The bread could become little toasted with the cheese baked in made a little crisper and packaged up. We decided to visit some of the local bakeries to check out exactly what bread would be perfect to toast up and package for our future product.
I love taking photographs of our vacation together of the beautiful countryside and Chris held my hand and said " honey we should incorporate you're pix onto you're toasted bread snacks. I knew this was a great idea and together we started drawing up ideas of what the bags of toasted cheesy bread would look like and thought heck we could even put interesting facts about Brazil on each package. It was what I needed a break from Vegas and Brazil was perfect. Chris and I looked out the window of our taxi ride back to the airport and we both were excited to have been so inspired from our vacation that when we got back home we would begin the process of creating our perfect snack.

Week 7 : Edoc The Pitch
I had a great time visiting South America and I had so much fun exploring the markets and even checked out the local bakery. The very tasty Brazilian cheese bread really got my taste buds going .  This bread I instantly wished it could be made into a tasty snack.  My best friend and I had stopped into a local bar and we were enjoying watching soccer game on the tv screens and catching up on good times.  The Brazilian cheese bread that I had eaten early in the day had got me thinking of how I could make this a convenient snack that could be served at any bar. My friend Michael and I brainstormed together and came up with the idea of turning the cheese flavored bread and transforming them into tasty crisp chips shaped like miniature thick crunchy bread slices.  The next step of this tasty cheesy snack was coming up with different flavors so that people would be able to experience a variety of different flavors. First we could make mild cheesy bread snaps, and we could have spicy cheese, peppered cheese. I had never considered creating my own snack but thought why not and I could incorporate my own graphic designs on the packaging and with help of my culinary friends they could help me create the perfect cheesy crisp snack that would fit perfectly in at any bar or heck as a snack that you could eat with you sandwich.

Brazil has so many possibilities to combine the culture into our beloved snack adventure. The beautiful country is well known for Carnival, their beautiful beaches and even the people who live in this very festive country. For myself being both a photographer and artist I really wanted to marry my two talents and use my talent to create a perfect package for my cheesy crisp bread snacks.

Week 6: Me x 3

I love my Skull Candy Headphones  and I am constantly using them almost every day.  They  have been most helpful while attending school they enable me to relax and listen to  my favorite songs on my Iphone and block out the distracting voices of my fellow classmates while I work on my homework assignments.  I fell in love with this brand and identified with its rebellious skulls as their logo for their headphones.  If I don't have my  headphones in my backpack for school I even feel naked without them. I so identify with my favorite headphones I even feel like a rebel punk jamming out to my favorite tunes while spending hours and the school library and even though sometimes through wear and tear I am more than happy to go out and find a new pair of skull candy headphones to make my own.
Everyone can say that they have there very own favorite signature fragrance that they can call there own and I have mine its called Red Roses by  Jo Malone.  It's a unique fragrance that I feel makes me stand out in a crowd and even makes me feel special. Each time I wear red roses I have perfect strangers come up to me and they ask me " What are you wearing?" Of course I always answer them with " I am wearing Red Roses by Jo Malone. " This fragrance makes me feel sexy and I always get attention because not a single time that I have worn the beautiful scent that I don't get stopped and questioned what I have on and that I smell so good.
My final object that I  identify  with are my converse shoes or as most people like to nickname them as " Chucks" When you first buy them and wear them they are a little stiff and uncomfortable but quickly you break them in and make them you're own. These classic sneakers have an enduring youthfulness to them and even capture the essence of a rebellious teenager attached to them . My earliest memory of the famous chuck was seeing the skater kids jump on their skateboards and take off their wheels with not a care in the world . I look at my skull candy headphones wearing one of my converse sneakers and I can't forget to spray on my signature Red Roses perfume has given me a pureness of youth, rebellion and sexy girly feel to my own individuality.

Week 5: EOC Social Networks and jobhunting

" More companies are trying to tap Facebook Inc.'s 750 -million - plus user base to find new employees ,threatening traditional job board and competing with LinkedIn Corp., which has dominated the online professional networking arena." ( Wall Street Journal by Joe Lite.)
The way companies are looking t recruit potential new employees they are quickly changing in a day in age when social media has a great influence in almost all aspects of life. I personally wouldn't be surprised if Facebook became the new avenue for companies to find new employees. On Facebook  there are so many links to such things as YouTube,Twitter and blog that the development of a special
link to job searching seems only fitting to social media. I believe that even though on social media such as Facebook that as individuals we post about our social lives and interests that it could also show potential employers what kind of worker we might be for the company and quite possibly would weed out poor employees . Employers would see through checking Facebook that future employees are hard working family oriented individuals by seeing what they post and if they see a person posting about partying and showing pure nonsense on their wall that those individuals are clearly would not be a worthy candidate to hire .
Another key element in developing a successful company and enticing potential employees I see would be to have a company that has a strong following and works hard to making strives to always improve themselves and build loyalty to the brand. One such company is Apple and it's even discussed in our class textbook in Chapter 5. " Apple 's keen understanding of customer's and their needs helped the brand to build a core segment of enthusiastic disciples . In  turn , the consumer love affair with Apple has produced stunning sales and profit results." ( p.136) The individuals who work at Apple do not for the high pay because sadly the pay rate isn't high they choose to work at Apple because they love the brand and want to be a part of the company simply because they love Apple. "Apple's keen understanding of customers and their needs helped the brand to build a core segment of enthusiastic disciples." p.136 I  have no doubt that within the next 5 yrs the way employers find potential employees will change and become the normal outlet to be found within the social media .

Week 4: EOC    Creating my App

“Social media make it easier than ever for people to share—to have conversations and express their opinions, needs, ideas, and complaints.” Page 105  Marketing textbook . There are so many apps that have been created over the past five yrs . I would gear my app that one could make it there own personal app that would connect to the websites that were precisely focused on people’s favorite interest. For myself my all time favorite topic is Music. I would call my app Music Wizard. This app would enable people like me who are serious music addicts tap into every avenue of music. It would tell me about the most happening bands out there and the underground bands that are hidden jewels. The Music Wizard would also link me up to every music magazine out there in the world so I can read up on what is happening in music, concerts and album revues around the world. Not only would the music wizard link me up to music journals but also connect me to other music enthusiasts and I could chat with music fans around the world. Another great thing about my Music Wizard I would love for it to even connect fans to up and coming bands and for it to be a way for fans of local bands to help promote their favorite hometown band with the world. In this day and age when MTV is no longer the strongest avenue for bands to be shown to the world via their music videos I feel an app that would share the love of big and small bands would be an excellent way to focus on talented bands to gain attention that might be lost since they don’t have a big record company or constant radio airplay to make them well known.

Week 3 EOC : My Demographics

“The Generation Xers are defined as much by their shared experiences as by their age. Increasing parental divorce rates and higher employment for their mothers made them the first generation of latchkey kids. Although they seek success, they are less materialistic; they prize experience, not acquisition. For many of the Gen Xers that are parents, family comes first—both children and their aging parents—and career second14 from a marketing standpoint, the Gen Xers are a more skeptical bunch. They tend to research products before they consider a purchase, preferring quality over quantity, and they tend to be less receptive to overt marketing pitches. Once labeled as “the MTV generation” and viewed as body-piercing slackers who whined about “McJobs,” the Gen Xers have grown up and are now taking over. They are increasingly displacing the lifestyles, culture, and values of the baby boomers. They are the most educated generation to date and they possess hefty annual purchasing power.” Page 72
I do agree with how the text book describes X generation as a mostly educated generation. For myself I have made myself more educated by making the decision to return back to school. The other thing that can be well said about x generation is that we are in the forefront of marketing and for companies of the past couple decades we have been the targeted audience who are one of the biggest consumer. Sadly it’s true about the x generation having a higher rate in divorce. Although my parents never got divorced but only briefly were separated. I regret to say but I have been divorced twice in my life and even though family values and marriage being sacred I was not able to avoid the fatal statistic of divorce being common place within my generation.  The lifestyle of an x generation I feel empowers expressionism and having owns one unique voice.
Week 3 EOC ; Making money for Good

In 2006 the Red company was founded by Bono and Bobby Shriver.” Its simple mission was to make it easy for people and businesses to join the fight against deadly Aids virus. (RED) has set out to solve the deadly problem of AIDS by getting the private sector to create a sustainable flow of money, while generating awareness around the AIDS issue. In the nearly 10yrs since ( RED) launched it has   raised $350 million and 100% of the money goes directly to work on the ground to make Aids by 2020 Aids free”.( Red ) campaign The Red organization has raised money to provide life-saving medicine which is the type that can provide medicine for HIV infected people throughout the world. Red has set up global fund for 8countries. The Global fund, the recipient of (RED) funds is a 21 st century organization designed to accelerate the end of AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria as epidemics.
I find the (RED) as a remarkable company soul goal is to work with companies such as Gap and Apple to help raise money from people suffering from AIDS. So far (RED) has helped more than 15 million people who are now on life saving ARV medication globally and out of those people more than 8.1 million people are on treatment thanks to the work (RED) set up through global funding.”  The money that has been raised by (RED) has been used to finance HIV/AIDS grants in Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Rwanda, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, and Zambia, impacting the lives of 70million people.”(RED) campaign.
The (RED) campaign is taking on a hard fight that may or may not be resolved by their goal which is having AIDS cured by 2020 but as I have read on their website what they have accomplished in the past decade is remarkable and inspiring.
