Week 5: EOC Social Networks and jobhunting

" More companies are trying to tap Facebook Inc.'s 750 -million - plus user base to find new employees ,threatening traditional job board and competing with LinkedIn Corp., which has dominated the online professional networking arena." ( Wall Street Journal by Joe Lite.)
The way companies are looking t recruit potential new employees they are quickly changing in a day in age when social media has a great influence in almost all aspects of life. I personally wouldn't be surprised if Facebook became the new avenue for companies to find new employees. On Facebook  there are so many links to such things as YouTube,Twitter and blog that the development of a special
link to job searching seems only fitting to social media. I believe that even though on social media such as Facebook that as individuals we post about our social lives and interests that it could also show potential employers what kind of worker we might be for the company and quite possibly would weed out poor employees . Employers would see through checking Facebook that future employees are hard working family oriented individuals by seeing what they post and if they see a person posting about partying and showing pure nonsense on their wall that those individuals are clearly would not be a worthy candidate to hire .
Another key element in developing a successful company and enticing potential employees I see would be to have a company that has a strong following and works hard to making strives to always improve themselves and build loyalty to the brand. One such company is Apple and it's even discussed in our class textbook in Chapter 5. " Apple 's keen understanding of customer's and their needs helped the brand to build a core segment of enthusiastic disciples . In  turn , the consumer love affair with Apple has produced stunning sales and profit results." ( p.136) The individuals who work at Apple do not for the high pay because sadly the pay rate isn't high they choose to work at Apple because they love the brand and want to be a part of the company simply because they love Apple. "Apple's keen understanding of customers and their needs helped the brand to build a core segment of enthusiastic disciples." p.136 I  have no doubt that within the next 5 yrs the way employers find potential employees will change and become the normal outlet to be found within the social media .
