my mission statement

Mission Statement

Many organizations develop formal mission statements that answer these questions. A mission statement is a statement of the organization's purpose what it wants to accomplish in the larger environment. ( pg 39.)

My mission statement for my tasty snacks was to give my customers the since of love that went into the product . I had such a wonderful time with my friend Chris in Brazil we took so many pictures and had so much fun on our vacation I wanted to pour that joy into every package I would produce. I wanted my snack to be not only a healthy one but a tasty snack for the general public to enjoy and want to consume. My mission is a a taste of Brazil packaged up in a beautiful package that as the customer eats my snacks they even get to read fun facts about Brazil on each package. The mission is for everyone to be able to taste my piece of Brazil and for it to be reasonably priced and that they will see that they even learn while they are munching down on my snacks. There was so much love put into my snacks that my mission is when one opens my snack and looks at the packaging that when they read the fun facts that they feel how much love that was put into every product.  I had so much fun and even put alot of research to go into producing the product I new that this plan of making my product would be a success.

Objectives

Objectives

The company needs to turn its mission into detailed supporting objectives for each level of management.  This broad mission lead to a hierarchy of objectives , including business objectives and marketing objectives. ( pg42)

The objective I know that lies ahead for my product is to build a profitable customer relationship by developing efficient yet beautiful products that embrace the essence of Brazil. I had decided to take great use of the fact of having so many friends that I wanted to seek out the best way to get my product out quickly and receiving feedback . I needed to gather up all  my objectives both positive and negative and use that information to create a successful  product. I had a business folder that contained all my objectives . There was a detail of my drawings that would show all the graphics that would be used on my packaging. I also that it would be important to show the objectives of where I would sell my products , the price point and the quantities that I would be selling my products for. I know that any business that would consider to sell my products would want to sell all the objectives to see on paper I knew that any business would be inclined to invest into my product . I had plan to go over my objectives with my friend Miguel who owns his own business and so I really valued his opinion. Having documents to having my product with all my objectives laid out I new that my product would be a success.

implemation evaluation control

Implemation Evaluation Control

In the evaluation stage, the consumer ranks brands and forms purchase intentions. Generally , the consumer's purchase decision will be to buy the most preferred brand, but two factors can come between the purchase intention and the purchase decision.( pg  153)
I know that I had to evaluate my product so I decided to take it to my friends Darean tattoo shop and not only did I have perfect timing but it was his grand opening. There was a big crowd at his opening and I would get a fair evaluation of my product by a big group. The mood would set perfectly we had Brazilian music playing and I was introducing myself and giving out my snacks . It was a crazy wonderful night and when I was ready to say goodbye everyone wanted to know where they could by the snacks I had created. How much were they ? are they sold in stores. I was so blown away by the happy response . I was a success that night. I had never been so excited and knew that I had implemated a great evaluation of my tasty snacks and now I had to work on the steps to get my snacks out to the general public

price

Price

Price is the amount of money customers, offering discounts, trade allowences and credit terms. Customers are interested in more than just the price;they are interested in the total costs of obtaining , using, and disposing of  a product. ( pg54)

The product I am creating gave me thrill and I had spent weeks figuring out how the package would look just how small the toasted cheesy bread snacks would be . The next step I knew I had to do was to start pricing snacks and to figure what would  be the best price to make my packages. So I started by first researching it online line by seeing how much the average toasted snack cost and to also take in the fact how much it would cost to produce my snack , how many I wanted to make and what would be the best price so I could make a profit from my product. There are so many factors in pricing first I had to look at how would my snack be made would I make it myself or have someone else make it. Then were would my packaging come from a small plant or would i buy it myself and put it together. I also had to take into consideration the quantity that I wanted my product made. I have to admit I was both excited and nervous at the same time. This was the first time in my life that I had ever thought of creating a snack to sell to the general public but teaming up with friends and networking all my resources I knew that it wasn't impossible.

promotion

Promotion

The selling concept takes an inside-out perspective . It starts with the factory ,focuses on the company's existing products ,and calls for heavy selling and promotion to obtain profitable sales . The idea that consumers will not buy enough of the firm's products  unless it undertakes a large-scale selling and promotion effort.( pg 11)

My Brazilian bread chips has to be promoted and I know that there has to be a strategy to promote my snacks. The first thing was that I had to find graphic art to have on my packaging . Then I know next to promote my tasty snacks I need to have a lot of people to be aware of my product. So I figured to have them in the local Vegas Magazines and of course the key would be to have my product all over the Internet on facebook,Twitter, Instagram  and even snapchat . Another strategy of mine would be to take advantage of being in the rock scene and to have my snacks to be available for sale at the different events. I would also take full use of my art skills and design posters for all the local bands and as part of my payment use my tasty bread chip snacks as part of the sponsorship . Having my product placed on the promo poster and adds in the magazines it could lead to getting my snack out to large number of people who live in Vegas or visit Vegas to see the dozens of bands who play throughout the month. I know that through my connections I could easily get a promo spot on Internet radio ; and I could easily gain listeners who could hear about my product and want to go to the local bars in Vegas to see for themselves who great my snacks really are and not only do they taste good but they are reasonably priced.

product

The product

“ The product concept holds that consumers will favor products that offer the most quality , performance, and features and that the organization should therefore devote its energy to making continuous product improvements.. Product quality and improvement are important parts of most marketing improvements."( pg11)
I want to make my snacks into a product that people want to buy . There are several things I have to consider with my product. First what will the packaging look like and will people stop to take a look and want to buy it. I have take into consideration how much it will cost to produce my product and to make sure that my profits are higher than the cost to make the product. I think that it’s best to start simple and to first try out my product at school . Better to start off small with my product than going to big and losing the money I want to invest. This first step will be to present to the school with my school and showing the grub hub my snacks and how much they would cost and to perhaps have them sold for a month to prove that the students will want to purchase my product on a regular basis.  I even though that I would have interesting facts about Brazil printed on the back of each snack bag.   I remember growing up and having Snapple drinks and popping off the cap and reading fun facts under each cap. So with my product I wanted a little throw back to the past and not only show my customers a nice tasty snack but to educate them while they are relaxing and eating my snacks at there favorite hang out joint. I could even expand it and talk about the cultural history and even nature facts.

target market strategy

Target Market Strategy

“ The company’s marketing strategy outlines which customers the company will serve and how it will create value for these customers. Next the  marketer develops an integrated marketing program  that will deliver the intended value to target customers.  “ ( page 12 from text book)

I’ve set out a budget in creating my snacks that I had to make a game plan on the steps to market my snack  and where to sell my snacks.  I know that I will have to check out the local bars and figure out how my snacks will fit into the local bars. I know that I will have to research my plan on how to successfully market my  snacks. So my friend Bill and I decided to go to a few bars and see what local bars have to offer for snacks . I thought it best to even talk to the bar tender and see if it was worthwhile to have my snacks sold. Packaging, pricing and of course the taste of my snacks is very  important to take into factor for my marketing strategy.
I decided to try out my product at school and see how my fellow students liked my snacks and I figured heck I’m at an art school filled with graphic design, and culinary students. My fellow students were a perfect group to help me look at all the options and even get free advice to how to market my snacks. To my surprise they loved my simple little snacks and even loved the fact they were just the perfect snack that could accompany almost any alcoholic beverage .  The next plan to help market my little snack that I knew would cost next to nothing was to have my fellow students film a small commercial for me and instead of having it on tv I thought why not take advantage of social media and have an add on the internet .

situation or SWOT analysis

Situation or Swat Analysis

" Swot analysis , by which it evaluates the company's overall strengths(S), weaknesses(W), opportunities(O), and threats (T) Strengths include internal capabilities, resources, positive situational factors that may help the company to serve its customers and achieve objectives. Weaknesses include internal limitations and negative situational factors that may interfere with the company's performance." - page 55 from class text book

Well for me I had to do a lot of thinking and figure out what to do with my yummy snacks that I got the inspiration to create them when I spent two weeks in Brazil. The first thing I had to look at was the strength of my product. So I figured who doesn’t want to try a new snack to eat at their local bar. Most bars that offer snacks is usually the standard nuts or pretzels.  Then the next thing I had to look at what are the weaknesses of my product. I had to a lot to think about .  This was going to be a challenge and my first time ever creating a product to be sold to the public. The opportunities I had in creating this tasty snack if I was successful was to create a little extra income for myself and if it was a success I could expand the market on my little snack . The threats I had well to be honest this was my first little business adventure and if I was careful I could potential waste not only my own money I could  fail at this business venture. There is research I new I had to do and also to figure where I wanted my snacks to be sold. Then I have to think about where I will go to have them made what price to make my little snacks. I know one thing I will learn a lot in this whole process.

Week 9 : EDOC  The Adventure

I have always been the adventurous type and I just knew that I would have an exciting trip to Brazil. My friend Chris had invited me for a two week stay and we had planned to see carnival and to try as much culture we could possibly take in . We had our bags packed and had brought a tour book for Brazil so that we would be sure not to miss out on anything. The first thing Chris wanted to do was to hit up one of the local bars and just to relax before we started our adventure. The bar was a quaint place and the bartender was very nice he asked us where we were visiting from . I said that I lived in Vegas and Chris was from England. We decided to order some food to go with our drinks and we were both taken away when we tried the crisp cheesy bread . I told Chris this would be perfect little snack that every bar should have. The bread could become little toasted with the cheese baked in made a little crisper and packaged up. We decided to visit some of the local bakeries to check out exactly what bread would be perfect to toast up and package for our future product.
I love taking photographs of our vacation together of the beautiful countryside and Chris held my hand and said " honey we should incorporate you're pix onto you're toasted bread snacks. I knew this was a great idea and together we started drawing up ideas of what the bags of toasted cheesy bread would look like and thought heck we could even put interesting facts about Brazil on each package. It was what I needed a break from Vegas and Brazil was perfect. Chris and I looked out the window of our taxi ride back to the airport and we both were excited to have been so inspired from our vacation that when we got back home we would begin the process of creating our perfect snack.
